Boca Grande, FL (December 19, 2018) - A woman from Boca Grande died following a crash in the city on Tuesday, December 18th.
74-year-old Kathrine S. Kernan was traveling southbound on a private road approaching Luke Road around 4:15 pm. This year alone, approximately 250,000 accidents involving injury will be reported in Florida. While this number may seem high, the reality is that injury accidents can and do occur frequently across our state. With a high population and a large number of cars and other vehicles on streets and highways, Florida consistently ranks near the top of the nation for the most dangerous places to drive.
If you have been involved in a car accident, there are a few ways you can protect yourself:
- Seek treatment immediately if you are hurt; do not wait until it is too late, you could jeopardize your health and your claim
- Take pictures of the accident scene including the vehicles involved
- Provide a complete statement to the police regarding what occurred
- Always remain on scene until officers arrive
- Make note of any statements made or actions taken by the other driver following the crash
