Boynton Beach, FL (May 31, 2019) - A fiery crash involving multiple trucks left one driver dead on Thursday, May 30th. The crash occurred on I-95 around 5:00 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The series of events began when two semi-trucks traveling southbound on I-95 came to a stop in a construction zone. A third semi-truck, also traveling southbound, failed to stop and crashed into one of the trucks. This set off a chain reaction in which the second truck crashed into the first, causing two of the trucks to burst into flames. The heat from the fire caused two of the trucks to melt together. The driver of one of the trucks lost their life as a result of the tragic crash. That driver has not been identified at this time by authorities.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for several hours, as traffic went to a standstill. The lanes eventually reopened around 1:30 p.m. No additional details have been provided.
