Bradenton, FL (February 11, 2018) - An 18-year-old high school student is dead following a tragic crash in Bradenton. The accident took place on Saturday, February 9th around 11:30 pm.
Police say that Victoria Mobley was driving home from her sister's house when she arrived at the intersection of 27th Street East and 36th Avenue. That is when police say Mobley's car collided with a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Adonis Waters. Waters was fleeing from a crash he had just caused at another location. He ran a red light before hitting Mobley's vehicle.
Both Mobley and her passenger, Nauryn Laws, were ejected in the crash. Mobley later died from her injuries. Waters was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Charges are pending against Waters at this time. Mobley was a senior at Bradenton High School.
Our thoughts go out to the family of Victoria Mobley in this horrific Bradenton car accident. Sadly, it appears as though this crash was entirely preventable. A reportable accident takes place about every 92 seconds in Florida. Many crashes can be avoided if drivers chose to drive safely and carefully and follow all traffic laws. In this case, the reckless driving of one motorist tragically claimed the life of a young woman.
