Bradford County, FL (August 19, 2018) – An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured on Friday afternoon when he was driving an ATV and hit a fence, overturning it. The Florida Highway Patrol investigated the incident.
The accident happened on Northwest 100th Avenue in Bradford County. Police said that two 11-year-olds were riding the ATV at the time, but only one of them was seriously injured – the other sustained minor injuries. The boys from Lake Butler were quickly transported to UF Health Gainesville.
At the time of the incident, the ATV was headed north on 100th Avenue when it suddenly struck a ditch. The driver lost control and the left bumper hit a fence post. The vehicle then rolled onto its right side.
