Brooksville, FL (February 27, 2019) - One person was taken to the hospital when a vehicle crashed through the front window of the Killingsworth Insurance Agency on Cortez Boulevard around 10:00 a.m.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office responded to a call in reference to the accident. Deputies on scene discovered that a Ford Fusion, operated by a female driver, went through the front of the building when the driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes to her vehicle. The woman was a client of the insurance agency and was attempting to leave the business when the crash took place.
One worker inside the building was taken to a local hospital after the car crashed through his office window. His injuries are not life-threatening. There is no word on whether the Fusion driver will face any charges.
Sometimes a car accident takes place at the most unexpected times. In this case, those who were affected were not even on the roadway or behind the wheel of a vehicle themselves. Regardless of where a crash occurs, a driver’s automobile insurance policy will still apply when their negligent acts have caused harm to innocent third parties. Our thoughts go out to the injured party at this time, with the hopes that they will receive a full recovery from their injuries.
