Christopher Roberts, a 22-year-old from Dixie County, suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash involving his 2008 Ford pickup truck. He was driving the pickup westbound on Southwest 586th Avenue when he lost control on loose surface material on the highway. The pickup then turned one-quarter of a turn and slid southwest.
The pickup truck exited the avenue and the Ford began to fishtail. From there, the right front side of the vehicle struck a standing tree. The vehicle came to a rest there, against the tree.
Roberts was taken to Shands in Gainesville with serious injuries. Charges are currently pending.
