44-year-old Rufus Jim Donely from Ocala died in a high-speed crash on Saturday afternoon. At the time of the accident, his vehicle was going at a high rate of speed in a 55 mph zone. As his vehicle was traveling eastbound, he lost control and it rotated until it struck a tree.
The car struck so hard that it separated it. The Florida Highway Patrol says that alcohol was not a factor and that Donely was wearing his seatbelt at the time.
