Two people were left in serious condition following an accident in Jefferson County that took place yesterday morning. At the time of the accident, the two women were traveling westbound on Interstate 10. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Courtney Singer with her passenger, 23-year-old Alexandra Lee.
There was heavy rain and bad road conditions, which led to Singer losing control of her vehicle in moving water and sliding down the north shoulder of the road. The left side of the vehicle then struck a tree, which split the vehicle in half.
Both were taken to the hospital in serious condition. They both had seatbelts on.
