With school nearly out for summer, children will be enjoying time away from their studies. However, as the end of the year fast approaches, we hear of more and more school bus accidents that are leading to injuries in students. A Crookshank Elementary bus was involved in an accident on the University of Florida campus today. The bus, at the time, was carrying 3rd grade students when the bus suddenly hit an awning. Some children were taken to the hospital to be treated, even though it was apparent that there were no serious injuries.
Alternative transportation came to pick up remaining children and the field trip continued.

A multi-vehicle crash caused injuries for at least one person. The crash took place on Interstate 95 near J. Turner Butler Boulevard on Friday, March 8th. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department along with officers responded to the site of the crash. At least one person had to be extricated from their vehicle on-scene and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Traffic in the northbound and southbound lanes of I-95 came to a standstill while crews worked on the scene. Some motorists found themselves stuck on I-95 for hours until the scene was cleared.
