Dania Beach, FL - Moped Driver Dies in Hit-and-Run on I-95

Dania Beach, FL (May 27, 2019) - A moped driver from Pennsylvania is dead following a hit-and-run crash on I-95 on Sunday, May 26th. The crash took place near the exit with Stirling Road.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. Troopers report that the man, identified only as a 36-year-old, was riding a moped in the center lane when he was struck from behind by another vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene immediately after the impact. The moped driver suffered catastrophic injuries and rescue workers pronounced him dead at the scene. Police are working to notify the man's next-of-kin at this time.

Troopers are seeking the responsible vehicle but have provided no additional details at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
