In Largo, a deputy was injured and taken to the hospital after being struck by another driver. The accident happened on Tuesday.
78-year-old Mary Boute was driving on Lark Drive Southwest, approaching Seminole Boulevard. At the same time, Deputy George Lehr was on the same roadway in a marked police vehicle. Boute stopped at a red light and turned northbound, striking Deputy Lehr in the passenger side door. The vehicle then started to spin.
Deputy Lehr had a green light at the time that he was struck. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Boute did not need medical treatment. She was cited for careless driving.
