Flagler County, FL (December 11, 2018) - A 62-year-old man was critically hurt in a rollover crash on US 1 in Flagler County. The crash happened around 1:45 pm on Monday, December 10th.
Police say that Eddie Bunnell was a passenger in a Ford Ranger driven by 43-year-old Gregory Williams. The Ranger was pulling a trailer and traveling on US 1. Officers report that the truck drifted into the center lane of the highway for unknown reasons. Williams attempted to correct the vehicle's path of travel but instead overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn. Collins sustained critical, life-threatening injuries and was taken to Halifax Hospital.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office and a homicide detective from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Officers remained on scene for several hours before leaving around 4:00 pm. There is no additional information at this time.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families affected by this tragic crash and we certainly hope that the victims are able to recover from their injuries. A rollover crash can have very serious and debilitating effects on the victims. Many rollover crashes occur due to negligent driving behavior such as speeding, impairment or distraction. In this case, we do not have enough information to say why the rollover crash occurred. If negligent behavior leads to a rollover crash, innocent victims or other affected drivers and passengers may have a personal injury claim against the negligent party.
