Fort Myers, FL (June 29, 2019) - The Florida Highway Patrol was called to a crash along I-75 in Fort Myers on Friday, June 28th. The incident occurred near mile marker 132 in the southbound lanes of the highway.
Troopers, along with rescue workers, arrived on the scene and investigated the crash shortly after it occurred. According to initial reports, there were injuries in the accident though the nature and extent of the injuries are unclear at this time. Police have not said how many people were hurt in the collision or how the accident took place.

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash involving another vehicle in Hillsborough County on Tuesday, August 27th. The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Hillsborough Avenue and Countryway Boulevard. According to reports, the motorcyclist was driving a 2005 Suzuki GSX R6 northbound on Hillsborough. At the same time, 31-year-old Joshua Patrick Weirick was driving a 2004 Ford Fusion eastbound in the left turn lane of Hillsborough. Weirick attempted to make a left turn but turned directly into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition. The name of the motorcyclist has not been released pending family notification. Read more
