Fort Myers, FL (July 29, 2021) - Two teens sustained serious injuries in a car accident that took place in Fort Myers on Wednesday night. The crash happened on I-75 near mile marker 142.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 16-year-old girl was driving an SUV on I-75 with an 18-year-old woman as her passenger. The car was traveling northbound. At the same time, a 58-year-old Fort Myers man was driving a pickup truck, also northbound on I-75. The SUV slammed into a homemade race car on the right side of the road. Florida car accidents often lead to serious and life-changing injuries for innocent victims. In 2019, our state saw more than 400,000 reported crashes and approximately 250,000 injuries as a result of these crashes. The prevalence of negligent drivers on our roadways means that all motorists must be alert for hazards at all times while occupying a vehicle.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with the injured teenagers following this car accident in Fort Myers.
