Goldenrod, FL (August 28, 2018) - A man from Winter Park was killed following a serious head-on collision Monday. Florida Highway Patrol was called to the intersection of Deep Lake Road and Almoa Avenue in reference to a two-car crash.
An initial investigation revealed that 51-year-old David Huffman was traveling north on Deep Lake when he collided with a van traveling in an easterly direction. Troopers say that one vehicle ran a red light, causing the crash. They have not revealed which vehicle ran the red light. Huffman later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital. The other driver, 40-year-old Russell Jarvis sustained only minor injuries in the accident.
This accident remains under investigation.
Our deepest condolences are with the family of David Huffman.
An investigation into this crash will occur in an effort to find out who is responsible. Authorities will review evidence from the scene, including the position of the vehicles, skid marks, witness statements and traffic signal patters in an effort to determine who ran the red light. Upon determination, the injured party or their family will have the right to pursue a personal injury action. Only after careful police investigation will more of the facts regarding this accident become available.
