Motorcycles account for approximately 3% of all registered vehicles on our roadway. In contrast, 14% of all traffic-related deaths occur on motorcycles. It seems clear, therefore, that motorcycle transportation carries a great risk of death or serious bodily injury.
Motorcyclists can take several safety precautions, including wearing a helmet, following all traffic laws and operating a motorcycle at the proper speed limit. Despite the safety precautions that can be taken, motorcycle accidents are bound to happen.
