Hillsborough County, FL (June 12, 2019) - One person is dead and another injured following a three-vehicle crash on Gibsonton Road. The crash took place on Monday, June 10th, around 4:45 p.m.
Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene near Mathog Road following the crash. According to detectives, a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on Gibsonton when it came to a stop sign. The Silverado failed to stop, however, and entered the intersection, striking the driver's side door of a 1997 Honda Accord. The Honda then went on and struck a 2018 Ford Flex that was stopped on Mathog Road.
The driver of the Honda died from injuries sustained in the collision while a passenger was also hurt. Authorities are investigating but, at this time, it does not appear as though alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
