Hit-and-run crashes are a major epidemic in Florida. Of the approximately 400,000 reported crashes that take place in our state each year, about 100,000 of those crashes will be hit-and-run collisions. Hit-and-run drivers are known for causing severe and fatal accidents and then attempting to avoid legal responsibility for their negligence. In most cases, however, the driver will eventually be apprehended and will face serious penalties.
