On Tuesday evening, Trooper Vanessa Franceschi was conducting a regular traffic stop in Miami-Dade County when, all of a sudden, she was intentionally struck in her patrol car by another vehicle. The suspect tried to flee the scene, but Franceschi wasn’t going to let them get away with it. She fled after them and used a pursuit intervention to stop the suspect. They were arrested on the scene.
As a result of the incident, Trooper Franceschi sustained minor injuries following the crash. Luckily, no other motorists were harmed as a result.
The suspect received charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, felony fleeing the scene of a crash with injuries, and more. The accident is still being investigated.
