Hillsborough County, FL - Fatal Accident Reported Friday on Veterans Expwy.

Hillsborough County, FL (September 17, 2021) - A tractor-trailer and an SUV were involved in a deadly collision that happened on Friday in Hillsborough County. The crash took place on Veterans Expressway near Hillsborough Avenue.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the accident scene. When troopers arrived, one vehicle was engulfed in flames. Rescue workers pronounced at least one person dead as a result of the collision. The victim's identity is not known at this time. There is no word on what caused the accident. The northbound lanes of Veterans Expressway were closed while officials worked at the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
An investigation is underway at this time. No further details have been released.
Fatal accidents occur in Florida approximately once every three hours. In Hillsborough County, negligent drivers are responsible for many deadly accidents that occur on the roadways.
