The driver of a charter bus was killed in an accident that took place on Interstate 10. Many others were injured in the serious accident, but the driver was the only fatality. He was identified as 65-year-old Harry Caligone.
Several dozen people were taken to the hospital after the bus swerved from its lane and went falling down a ravine. A passenger said that it seemed as if the driver was unresponsive as the bus swerved. The passenger quickly leaped into action and tried to revive him but it was too late.
The bus was driving around 59 mph at the time and swerved all over the median, striking a barrier and going off the edge of a concrete ravine. Caligone had been a driver for over two decades.
