Interstate 65, FL (August 17, 2018) – A fatal motorcycle accident took place on Interstate 65 that led to the loss of life of one person. Metro Police have been working on identifying the victim, who they say was 66-year-old Patrick Luefan.
The accident took place near Wedgewood Avenue around 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Witnesses at the scene said that one witness to the crash fled the scene. They said that he was in a white SUV and drove through the scene, continiong down the exit ramp.
Witnesses said that Leufan was wobbling on his Honda motorcycle before it finally left the roadway and struck a guardrail. He was then ejected from his bike and thrown over the guardrail. The identification was delayed because he was not carrying photo ID with him at the time.
The road was closed for several hours at the time of the incident so that an investigation could take place.
