Jacksonville, FL (September 22, 2019) - The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a head-on crash on Roosevelt Boulevard early Sunday morning. The crash took place around 1:15 a.m.
Investigators say that a 2008 Scion TC was traveling southbound on Roosevelt when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle, traveled over the concrete median and crossed into the northbound lanes. While traveling northbound, the Scion collided with a 1996 Ford SUV. Both vehicles overturned following the impact. The Ford driver, 21-year-old Royce Tovar, was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.
