A drunk driver, 34-year-old Benson Johnston, crashed into a motorcycle with a man and woman on it in Riverview Saturday night. The accident killed the man and woman.
The victims were 37-year-old Kerry Jason Webb and 25-year-old Angelina Elizabeth Torrey. At the time of the accident, Johnston was driving his Lexus south toward Johanna Avenue and Webb and Torrey were riding northbound. Johnston tried to turn left and ran right into their motorcycle.
The two victims were ejected from their motorcycle. They were both wearing helmets at the time. Webb died at the scene. Torrey was taken to the hospital where she later died due to her injuries.
Johnston fled the crash on foot and went to his house. Deputies found him there and brought him to the accident scene. Now he is being held in jail.
