Hit-and-run crashes account for approximately 25% of all accidents that are reported across Florida. Not only is it ethically and morally irresponsible to leave the scene of a crash, but it is also illegal to do so. Failing to remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury can result in felony charges for the responsible driver. In this case, the driver will face those charges once apprehended. The driver could also be held civilly responsible in a negligence lawsuit for the injuries suffered by Philip Rysavy.
