Levy County, FL (March 28, 2019) - A rear-end crash on US-41 left a man dead. The accident occurred on Wednesday, March 27th.
51-year-old Thomas Wesley Munden was driving a 2013 Ford Focus in the northbound lanes of the highway. Munden slowed his vehicle to make a right turn onto Southeast Second Street when he was struck from behind by a delivery truck, driven by 30-year-old Luis Rivera Gonzalez. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and transported Munden to UF Health Shands Hospital, where he later died.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrols say that charges are pending against Gonzalez at this time.

Wickham Road near I-95. According to reports, at least one person suffered injuries in the crash. There is no information on the cause of the collision or the number of injured victims at this time. A 92-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres sustained serious injuries following a crash in Fort Myers on Sunday. The accident took place around 4:00 a.m. on Daniels Parkway near Six Mile Cypress Parkway. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident. According to troopers, the woman was a passenger in a van when a 44-year-old driver from Lehigh Acres collided with the back of the van. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. There is no update on her condition and her identity has not been released at this time.
