Lithia, FL (March 30, 2021) - Deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident in Lithia on Monday, March 29th. The crash happened on Lithia Pinecrest Road near the intersection with Lithia Estates Drive.
According to officials, the crash resulted in the death of one motorist. A second driver was hospitalized in an unknown condition. Police have not released any details surrounding the cause of the accident at this time. The identities of the victims are not available. Officials have not said whether any charges are expected to be filed.
There is no additional information available at this time. An investigation into the accident is underway.

A 25-year-old graduate assistant at Florida Atlantic was killed and his passenger suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash on the Florida's Turnpike. The crash took place on Friday, November 1st around 2:30 a.m. Police responded to the crash scene near Southern Boulevard. According to reports, Polycarpo was traveling northbound in a 2009 Dodge Caliber when his vehicle was suddenly cut off by a second vehicle that merged into his lane of travel. Polycarpo swerved to avoid a collision and lost control of his car. The vehicle spun around, went off the roadway, and struck a tree. Polycarpo died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the crash. His passenger, 26-year-old Mailyn Toribio was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Read more
