Live Oak, FL (July 27, 2018) – On Thursday afternoon, a three-vehicle accident took place that took the life of a Bellview woman. Two vehicles were headed south on U.S. Highway 129 around 3:30 p.m. yesterday when the accident took place.
44-year-old Juan Nieves Rodriguez was driving a Pontiac Sunfire and slowed down to make a left-hand turn. The Florida Highway Patrol said that a Chevy Silverado couldn’t stop in time and rear-ended the vehicle. This collision sent the car spinning into the northbound lanes when a Chevy Malibu had to avoid it.
The man inside the Silverado, 51-year-old Robert Glass, was not injured. Rodriguez suffered injuries and was life-flighted to the hospital for treatment.
There was a 42-year-old Bellview woman in Rodriguez’s car at the time, and she lost her life in the accident. Her name has not yet been released.
22-year-old Carrie Smith was in the Malibu and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
As of now, the investigation into the matter continues.
