Manatee County, FL (October 4, 2019) - The victim in a fatal crash that took place in Manatee County has been identified by authorities. The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2nd.
Police say that 75-year-old Gary Peak from Lakewood Ranch, FL was driving a Mazda sedan northbound on Greenbrook Boulevard. As he entered the intersection with State Road 70, his car was struck by a Chevy Silverado traveling westbound. Both cars then collided with a Lexus sedan that was stopped for traffic on Post Boulevard.
Peak was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. The Lexus driver sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Chevy was uninjured. The crash remains under investigation at this time and there is no word on whether any charges are expected.
