Marion County, FL (October 5, 2019) - A pedestrian was killed in a crash along US 441 in Marion County. The crash happened on Friday, October 4th around 7:30 p.m.
According to initial reports, the man was walking northbound on 441 when he was struck by a Ford Escape. Following the crash, the man was propelled into the median of the roadway. Rescue workers arrived and pronounced him dead at the crash scene. The driver of the Escape was not hurt. The pedestrian has not been identified at this time.
The crash remains under investigation and no further details have been released.

Police in Fort Pierce are investigating following a hit-and-run crash on Thursday, March 4th. The incident occurred on North 19th Street, east of North 25th Street and Avenue M. When officials arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified victim unconscious in the middle of the roadway. The victim was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where they were listed in critical condition. Officers are investigating the incident.
