Martin County, FL (August 7, 2019) - Troopers are investigating after an 86-year-old man was hurt in Martin County on Tuesday, August 6th. The man, identified as Douglas Welock, was injured when his scooter collided with a car on Indian River Drive.
Police say that Welock was driving his battery-powered scooter along and attempting to cross Indian River when he was hit by a 2002 Buick traveling in the southbound lanes. Paramedics arrived on the scene and took Welock to the hospital with serious injuries. He is currently listed in critical condition. The driver of the car has not been identified.
