67-year-old Mary Hill was convicted of vehicular homicide and manslaughter in a case that brought a lot of publicity to her life after she crashed her BMW, killing her teenage daughter and the friend of her daughter. She picked up the two from school and reached speeds of 73 MPH before the crash and slammed into a tree. Prosecutors became involved in the case and determined that there was no defect in the vehicle but instead Hill was suicidal based on things that her psychiatrist said.
She will be serving probation after her prison stay.
