Miami, FL (January 6, 2020) - Two women are dead following a crash on the Julia Tuttle Causeway. The crash took place on Monday, January 6th.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of a silver Nissan was making a right turn onto the northbound ramp of I-95 when her vehicle collided with a concrete wall. The driver of the Nissan was killed in the crash. Her passenger was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Neither of the two victims has been identified at this time and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Drivers were urged to seek alternate routes while police investigated at the scene. There is no further information available.

Two people sustained injuries when a car crashed into a Publix liquor store in Dade City. The crash happened on Saturday around 2:00 p.m. Police responded to the store at 11798 U.S. 301 shortly after the incident occurred. Officers say that a 79-year-old woman driving a minivan crashed through the store's front wall, striking a customer and an employee. There is no word on what caused the woman's vehicle to travel through the building. A store employee suffered an arm laceration and upper body injuries while a female customer sustained injuries from glass and debris. Both were taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was also transported with undisclosed injuries. Read more
