Molino, FL (September 27, 2018) – According to authorities, an accident involving a large tractor claimed the life of a 4-year-old boy on Wednesday afternoon, September 26, in Molino. The child was reported to have been struck by the tractor just outside of a residence in the area. The location of the fatal accident was near the 600 block of Highway 196.
Emergency medical personnel were immediately called to the scene, however, their efforts came as little comfort as the young child was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Escambia County EMS were the first to respond to the accident at an undisclosed time.
The cause of the accident and/or how the child ended up in the path of the tractor is unknown at this time. The child’s name has not been released, and no further information has been made available. Authorities are currently conducting a detailed and thorough investigation into the events that led to this tragic accident.
Statistics say that roughly two pedestrians die every day due to car accidents. While not every Florida car accident involving a pedestrian or a child results in death, the catastrophic nature of these types of collisions is all-too-common.
