According to reports, Don Nicholas Kemp was riding a 2007 Harley-Davidson in the right-hand lane of the roadway around 7:20 a.m. Kemp was riding behind a 1994 Dodge Ram driven by Jose Diaz-Rivera. As Rivera slowed for traffic, Kemp crashed into the back of Rivera's vehicle. Kemp fell from the bike and was thrown into the roadway where he was then run over by a 2008 Toyota Highlander driven by 68-year-old Allan Granda. Kemp was lodged underneath the Highlander and was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Our condolences go out to the family of Don Nicholas Kemp following this fatal crash in Ocala.
Fatal collisions occur in Florida about once every three hours. While many people believe that rear-end crashes normally minor in nature, that is often not the case. A rear-end crash that takes place at a high speed can have a devastating impact on victims.
