Ocala, FL (November 17, 2019) - A man from Ocala suffered serious injuries after he was run over by an SUV on Saturday, November 16th. The crash happened in a parking near the Salvation Army building on Northwest First Avenue.
The Ocala Police Department was called to the scene following the incident. According to authorities, the unidentified man was lying in a patch of grass used as a parking area when he was run over by an Acura SUV. The SUV had been reported stolen on Friday and police detained the driver near the scene. The man was rushed to Ocala Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was listed in critical condition on Saturday.
Officers have not identified the driver at this time and charges are pending. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Miami Beach on Thursday night. The crash happened just before 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of 5th Street and Michigan Avenue. According to police, the man was walking near the intersection when he was hit by a Kia Sorento. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the crash scene. After the crash, the driver of the Sorento fled the accident scene. Although the vehicle was later located, police are still looking for the driver at this time.
