Bicycle accidents are a common occurrence in Florida. Unfortunately, our state actually leads the nation in per capita rate of deaths among all bicyclists with .57 deaths per 100,000 people. The number injured far exceeds the number killed each year.
There are a few tips that bicyclists can implement to help avoid accidents:
- Wear appropriate clothing, including light colored clothing and reflectors if riding at night
- Follow all traffic laws and yield to vehicles where necessary
- Avoid riding in areas of high traffic or poorly lit areas
- Ride with the flow of traffic rather than against
While bicyclists can take every possible safety precaution, we understand that accidents still happen. At Rubenstein Law, our Florida bicycle accident attorneys are here to help in times of need. For a free consultation, call us at 1-800 FL-Legal.
