Orange Park, FL (June 23, 2018) – A train accident became a fatal event for an Orange Park Woman, who was killed in an accident yesterday morning.
At the time of the incident, 56-year-old Lucinda Eucker was walking on the railroad tracks around the area of Lakeside Villa Drive near Doctors Lake Drive
The woman, who did not get out of the way in time, was struck by a northbound CSX freight train. The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the scene of the accident. It took place around 6:45 in the morning.
The number of deaths from train accidents has been up, specifically in South Florida, for many years now. In fact, in just Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, twenty-three people lost their lives in 2017 compared with the 14 in 2016. There are many reasons for this, and safety has now become a top priority for keeping individuals safe around these deadly tracks.
