Orlando, FL (April 6, 2019) - Three family members suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash in the Pine Hills neighborhood on Friday, April 5th. The crash took place at the intersection of Fir Drive and Pine Hills Road around 10:00 p.m.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol say that a Honda Civic came to a stop at a stop sign before attempting to turn left. The Civic driver began making the turn but collided with a Nissan Maxima. The Nissan collided with the rear door of the Honda, causing the Honda to crash into a curb on Pine Hills before catching fire. After the crash, the driver of the Nissan fled the scene on foot.
The Honda driver, a 43-year-old male, was taken to the hospital in serious condition. A 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy were also transported with serious injuries. The three injured victims are family members.
Our thoughts are with the injured family members in this case and we hope for a speedy recovery. A hit-and-run crash can cause serious damage and severe injuries on a moment's notice. Hit-and-run drivers choose to leave a crash scene in order to avoid legal responsibility for their actions. This can leave crash victims and their families frustrated and searching for answers.
