This year, over 10,000 pedestrians will be hurt in accidents with vehicles. Pedestrian accidents take place each and every day across our state and many pedestrian accidents bring serious and sometimes fatal consequences. Pedestrian crashes tend to occur in areas with high traffic and at night or in the early morning hours when visibility for drivers and pedestrians is at its lowest point. Many pedestrian crashes could be avoided if more care was taken by drivers and pedestrians to ensure that they are not placing themselves at high risk for such accidents to occur.
