Osceola County, FL ( July 8, 2018) – In Florida in the year 2017, 2 pedestrians lost their lives in accidents every day. These serious accidents always send thousands to the hospital every year as well.
In Osceola County, a 54-year-old man was trying to cross the Orange Blossom Trail and, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, he was struck and killed by a vehicle. The accident happened late on Saturday night.
51-year-old Arifur Rahman was driving his 2009 Toyota Camry around midnight when the accident took place. It happened near the intersection of Hilda Street. He struck Jorge Santos, a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road. Santos was quickly rushed to the Osceola Regional Medical Center where he later passed away due to his severe injuries.
The crash is under investigation at this time.
With so many pedestrian accidents taking place every year, it is helpful to identify why these accidents occur on Florida’s roadways. Some of them happen due to distracted driving, drowsy driving, excessive speed, and more. Our condolences are with you if you have lost a loved one in one of these serious accidents.
