Every hour, about 30 car accidents will be reported in Florida. Some of the most serious accidents reported in our state involve motorcycles. Motorcycles make up a very high proportion of serious and fatal crashes. A motorcycle does not offer the same protections as a vehicle when it comes to impacts with larger objects such as cars and trucks. A motorcyclist is also likely to be thrown from the bike during a collision and can suffer catastrophic injuries even if a helmet is being used. Other drivers should always be alert for motorcyclists and motorcyclists should also follow all traffic laws and safety precautions to reduce the likelihood of an unfortunate event.
