Accidents are a common event on Florida streets and highways, with over 400,000 crashes reported each year in our state. Approximately 250,000 of those crashes resulted in injuries. In many car accidents, there is at least one innocent victim. When innocent people are hurt, the law steps in to provide remedies.
In Florida, when a driver, passenger, or pedestrian is hurt by the negligence of another person, the injured individual has the right to bring a personal injury claim. In such claims, the victim can recover for pain and suffering, lost wages, and all medical treatment, including future costs of treatment in some cases. When a death occurs due to a car accident, a wrongful death claim may be pursued by the victim's next of kin.
