Palm Beach County, FL (January 23, 2019) - A 44-year-old woman from Jupiter died in a crash on Monday, January 21st. Police say that Abigail E. Rosenmeyer was driving westbound on Southern Boulevard around 8:30 pm. Rosenmeyer attempted to make a left turn onto an access road when she collided with a semi-truck traveling eastbound.
Following the crash, Rosenmeyer's 2015 Ford Fusion traveled underneath the tractor-trailer and became wedged underneath. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
Police are still investigating the crash and there is no word if any charges will be filed at this time.
A fatal accident is reported about every three hours in Florida. In crashes involving large vehicles such as tractor-trailers, the resulting damage is likely to be great. Unfortunately, these crashes also have a higher chance of resulting in fatalities to those involved. We wish to extend our condolences to the family of Abigail Rosenmeyer.
Losing a loved one to a Florida car accident is one of the most difficult things that a family has to endure. In such cases, a complete accident investigation must be undertaken in order to determine the cause of the crash. When an innocent person is killed by the negligence of another driver, the deceased's family may have the right to bring a wrongful death claim under Florida law.
