Yesterday, a 65-year-old personal injury attorney named Marcos Antonio Gonzalez-Balboa was charged in a fatal crash that killed a woman at a Miami Lakes crosswalk. Gonzalez-Balboa crashed into the woman with his Mercedes-Benz and then drove off in the same city where he owns his law firm.
He received charges of DUI manslaughter, failure to render aid, vehicular homicide, failure to stop, and more. The woman who lost her life was 26-year-old Tatum Holloway of Michigan. She was using the crosswalk in the early morning of December 7, 2017, when Gonzalez-Balboa hit her, launching her onto a curb.
After the accident, Holloway was found face-down near a gutter at an intersection. A suit filed by Holloway’s parents on her behalf states that they would like more than $15,000 to compensate their grief and pay off medical expenses and funeral costs.
