Pinellas County, FL (August 23, 2021) - Two people sustained serious injuries in a car accident that took place in Pinellas County on Monday, August 23rd. The accident occurred on 54th Avenue North.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene. According to troopers, a 46-year-old man from St. Petersburg was driving the wrong way on 54th Avenue when he collided with a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old woman from St. Petersburg. Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lanes. The woman was seriously hurt, along with a 34-year-old passenger in her vehicle. The 46-year-old man sustained minor injuries. Troopers have not released the names of those involved.
An investigation is ongoing. There is no further information available.

A 61-year-old man from Wesley Chapel was killed in a bicycle accident on Sunday, November 4th. The crash took place in Hillsborough County on Hillsborough Avenue near Harney Avenue. Police say the bicyclist was riding east on Hillsborough when he attempted to make a lane change. As the lane change occurred, he was struck by a Dodge vehicle driven by 45-year-old Corey Nathan Lucas. Lucas was heading westbound on Hillsborough at the time of the collision.
