Punta Gorda, FL (January 31, 2020) - Police were at the scene of a deadly car accident in Punta Gorda on Friday, January 31st. The crash happened in the 12000 block of Tamiami Trail.
According to authorities, the collision took place in the northbound lanes of the roadway. When rescue workers arrived at the scene, they discovered at least one person suffering from crash-related injuries. The victim was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained. There is no word on the identity of the victim or the cause of the crash at this time. The northbound lanes of Tamiami Trail were closed as officers worked at the scene.
