Putnam County, FL (April 28, 2019) - A head-on crash left one woman dead and two more seriously hurt on Saturday, April 28th. The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene at State Road 20 and SW 56th Avenue just before 9:00 p.m.
According to investigators, 38-year-old Sean Creamer was driving a Honda Civic westbound on SR 20 when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone. As he attempted to pass the vehicle, he collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Camry. Creamer's passenger, 53-year-old Martha Scott, was killed as a result of the crash. Creamer suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Camry, 44-year-old Delvis Easton, sustained serious injuries.
Troopers are still investigating but at this time alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
About 400,000 car accident will be reported this year in Florida. Over half of these reported crashes will involve injuries to one or more individuals. Sadly, many of the crashes will also involve serious injuries. In a head-on collision, injuries are often severe and even fatal. In this accident, it appears as though Sean Creamer was negligent when he violated a traffic law and attempted to pass a second vehicle.
