Florida Highway Patrol has announced that a 72-year-old man named Robert Cole passed away due to serious injuries from an accident that happened a week ago. Robert Cole was hospitalized ever since the accident happened but died on Wednesday.
The accident happened on March 14 as Cole was driving eastbound in a left-turn lane on Hatchett Creek Boulevard. At the intersection, a 40-year-old man in a Toyota Corolla was heading southbound toward the same intersection. Cole didn’t see the Corolla and started to make a left turn, which caused the other driver to slam into his vehicle.
Though the other driver did not receive any injuries, Cole was taken to Venice Regional Hospital. He was transferred to another hospital due to the extent of his severe injuries before he passed away.
