A 54-year-old named Rocky Shelton of Lake Helen was parked in the emergency lane of Interstate 75 yesterday afternoon so that he could check the tires on his trailer rig. While he was there, an unidentified driver came up on the emergency lane in a Toyota 4Runner.
The victim, who lost his life in the accident, started drifting from the center lane when he overcorrected into the emergency lane. The driver then struck the rear corner of the parked trailer rig. The driver died at the scene due to serious injuries.
Van did not receive injuries.
